Town of Griffith Information – Smoke Alarm and Time Change

City-of-GriffithThe risk of dying in a house fire is cut in half when there is a working smoke detector in the home. Additionally, more than 150 people die each year due to accidental CO poisoning; thousands more are hospitalized. To help reduce those risks Griffith Fire Department is proud to announce the re-launch of our smoke detector/CO detector promotion. Through a generous donation from the Griffith Firefighters’ Association, supported by donations from the Canadian National Rail Road, the Griffith business community, and Griffith residents, we are able to offer free smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to Griffith residents in need.

Residents interested in receiving a free detector may contact Griffith Fire Department Association President Steve Stelk at 219-614-6013 or via email at gffa46319@hotmail.com. You may also contact Deputy Fire Chief Don Hill at 219-545-2014 or via email at don.hill@griffith.in.gov.
