Towle Youth Theater Ensemble Announces Auditions for “Romeo and Juliet”

Romeo-JulietThe Towle Youth Theater Ensemble has been going strong for over 3 years. They have offered a variety of musicals and non-musicals including 13 the Musical, Anne of Green Gables, Anne Frank and Me and their most recent production, the hilarious Clue, the Musical. Staying with the mission of challenging young artists, Managing Director-Jeff Casey and former TYTE member Patrick Stapinski have chosen to create a contemporary adaptation of the classic Romeo and Juliet: staged as a TYTE production.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2 from 1pm-5pm at the Towle Theater; 5205 Hohman Avenue, Hammond IN. They are seeking young men and young women (grades 6-12) all strong actors.

Students will be asked to read from the script. Audition cuttings will be available at the Towle Theater website beginning January 13.

Current TYTE members represent students from Homewood/Flossmoor and Beecher, IL, Hammond, Whiting, St. John, Munster and Dyer, IN

Students from all over NW Indiana and Southern suburbs of Chicago are strongly encouraged to audition. Those who audition and don't make the cast or anyone interested in off-stage/back-stage involvement will work on small committees for the show including box office, tech and PR/marketing.
