If you thought treats couldn’t get any sweeter, you were wrong! Opportunity Enterprises’ Simply Amazing Market held the ribbon cutting for the opening of their first off-campus facility located directly at Meijer in Valparaiso.

A successful football season left the Valpo Vikings short three starters to open their basketball season Friday night, but the Vikings still came out on top with a 76-27 win over the Hobart Brickies.

The New Prairie Cross Country welcomed schools from around the Region to the 2018 Cross Country Sectionals!
Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana continues to support the community through many outlets, such as its unique fundraising approach. One prime example is the fundraising event Heels for Meals. The event prompts guests to sport the funkiest, most outrageous heels, flats, or socks in order to compete for the winning spot in those three different categories. Heels for Meals was specifically designed to raise funds for the Meals on Wheels endowment fund in order to support their long term service to the community.
Earlier in the month, Mayor Thomas McDermott and City of Hammond officials released a humorous promotional video to publicize the upcoming Festival of the Lakes. A Region tradition, the festival promises five nights of food, fun, carnival rides, and a slew of awesome musical performances to cap off the evenings. McDermott and his crew knew the festival deserved a proper level of hype, and they pulled out all the stops with their video. Judging by the success of the event’s first evening, the Festival of the Lakes 2018 is more than living up to its hype.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana has proved its ambitious outreach to its members, sponsors, and supporters by providing them with opportunities that reflect its mission and by thinking outside the box. Night of Flight, a first-of-its-kind fundraising event, succeeded in proving that mission. The event included the opportunity for members of Boys & Girls Clubs and Night of Flight Guests to fly in one of the three Chicago Helicopter Experience helicopters, listen and engage with accomplished speakers, and meet the people who sponsor them.

The City of Hobart welcomed the community to the annual Fourth of July Parade to celebrate the birth of our nation!
Crown Point Girls Basketball vs Lake Central 2018
The Crown Point Lady Bulldogs continued their dominance on Friday, taking a 54-21 win over the Lake Central Indians, putting their season record at 13-0. Aside from the fact that the victory marked a critical conference win as the Dogs search for DAC crown, it was also their first victory over Lake Central in the better part of nearly a decade.
