Northwest Indiana had three girls basketball teams ranked among the Top 20 by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) when the organization released their latest rankings Monday.
Holding the 15th overall ranking and highest in the area is Merrillville, which boasts a 4-1 record on the season. The Pirates received 135 points.
Immediately following them in the 16 slot is La Porte, which garnered 87 points with their 4-0 record.
Lake Central (4-1) rounded out the Top 20, with 33 points.
