Thomas Kia of Highland General Manager Tom Seely was excited to see the entire Thomas family spending quality time together at the game.

“This year we included our sister store, Thomas Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram, and it’s just made the Thomas family grow even bigger,” Seely said. “When you deal with employees of different stores, you don’t see them outside of work. So this just brings the whole Thomas family together and makes the work environment even better.”

Although Thomas Kia of Highland has been hosting this outing for four years now, there were still employees who got to experience the outing for the first time. Shawn Cole, a porter for Thomas Kia, got to experience his first company outing as well as his first White Sox game ever.

“I’m having a fantastic time. It’s definitely a great first game,” Cole said. “It means a lot that this is my first game. It makes me feel like my boss actually cares and appreciates the work ethic of all the employees.”

This was an exciting game for everyone in attendance as the White Sox finished the three-game series at Guaranteed Rate against the Rangers in an exciting fashion. The White Sox trailed for a majority of the game but were able to rally late to send the game to extra innings. Both teams would go on to score three runs in the 11th inning to extend the contest, but unfortunately, the Rangers ran away with the win in the 12th inning.

No one likes to see the home team lose, but there was one Thomas family employee who left with a win today. Thomas Dodge employee Robert Heady was the day’s lucky winner of the 50/50 raffle. Heady entered the raffle with $50 and came back with a whopping $11,650.

“It feels great. My wife never lets me gamble so it makes me feel real good,” Heady joked.

It’s not all about the wins and losses. It’s about memories, and today, the Thomas family made memories they will remember for a long time.

“The Thomas family in general is a very family-oriented company, and for them to supply us with the funds to do this is just extraordinary,” Seely said.
