The Stage is Set for America’s Crossroads Bowl

College Football Returns to the South Shore

The Ashland University Eagles and McKendree University Bearcats have been selected to participate in the fourth annual America’s Crossroads Bowl on Friday, December 1, in Hammond, Ind. Ashland (8-3, 8-1) will represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) while McKendree (5-5, 5-2) will represent the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). This is the first appearance for both teams to participate in this annual contest.

The America’s Crossroads Bowl is one of three NCAA Division II bowl games sponsored nationally and is conducted in partnership with the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority and the City of Hammond. The annual bowl game which features teams from the G-MAC and the GLVC will move to Hammond Central High School from its previous home at Brickyard Stadium in Hobart.

“The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority (SSCVA) is excited to partner with the City of Hammond to host this special collegiate football game,” said SSCVA President/CEO, David Uran. “We’re eager to showcase the new Hammond Central football facility and want to thank the School City of Hammond for their support of this event. Collectively, we want to invite all football enthusiasts to bring their family and friends to come out and enjoy NCAA college football under the Friday Night Lights in Northwest Indiana!”

The festivities will begin with a pre-game tailgate party at Byway Brewing in Hammond and will offer food and beverage specials from 2-5 PM. All ages are welcome. Gates open to the public at Hammond Central at 4:45 PM and kickoff is at 6 PM CT.

Tickets are available for $12 for adults, $7 for students and seniors. Children 4 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased and additional information can be found online by visiting americascrossroadsbowl.com. Tickets will also be sold at the gate.
