The Lakes of Valparaiso round up 2018 events, look towards 2019

True to their “luxury living” credo, the Lakes of Valparaiso community kept a packed calendar of resident events as 2018 drew to a close.

Beginning in November, residents and staff channeled the spirit of the season with the Hilltop Neighborhood Food Drive, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the gift of giving. From peanut butter to Hamburger Helper, non-perishables donated by generous residents piled up at the Clubhouse, awaiting delivery to the Hilltop Neighborhood House.

Also in line with their altruistic nature, the Lakes of Valpo staff led the way with Random Acts of Kindness week. From November 12 – 16, staff did something special and spread kindness throughout the community, inviting residents to look for little ways they could help others as well.

Lakes of Valpo opened its doors to the public for their Fall Wine Tasting on November 15. Billed as the “Happiest Hour,” the event was sponsored by WiseGuys Liquors and welcomed everyone to sip and taste their way through a connoisseur-guided tour of various vintages and small bites.

Fall Craft Night was a hit, with artists of all ages invited to the clubhouse for a Sunday afternoon of arts and crafts on November 18. The clubhouse opened early November 20, for resident-favorite Donut Day! Hot coffee and fresh donuts were on the [club]house!

Lakes of Valpo opened the community room December 6 for a free, ticketed Holiday Dinner where residents enjoyed great food and conversation with their neighbors. A caricature artist provided take-home prints to make the evening extra fun – and extra memorable!

From December 10-16, residents got their gift wrap on with a warm cup of holiday cheer (aka hot cocoa). The Lakes team provided supplies for those looking for a wintry workshop refuge free of pestering pets and meddling kids. Indeed, they wrapped and sipped in in peace and joy.

Most recently, Didonna Crafts hosted a sold-out Wine & Pint Glass Painting event. For only $35, Lakes of Valpo provided wine and snacks while attendees put brush to glass, hand painting their own creations. Touted as a way to meet new friends and unwind, the evening was a hit with personally-painted mementos.

As February flies in full force, Lakes of Valpo has a packed calendar of community events. From Valentine’s Day card-making to a romantic fondue fete, more awaits.. It’s par for the course when you love where you live. Visit http://www.lovthelife.com/ for more.
