The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host its annual Cover All Your Bases Business Expo. For more than 10 years, the chamber has hosted this community-focused networking opportunity. The event is taking place on Tuesday, May 17, and both community members and chamber members are invited to take part in a full day of events and opportunities to connect with businesses in the Northwest Indiana region.
“The expo gives businesses an awareness and the opportunity to brand and market themselves to the community and chamber members.” Deann Patena, President and CEO of the Crossroads Chamber of Commerce said.
For the second year, the Expo is being held at U.S. Steel Yard, “Home of the Railcats.” Patena shared that the move to Railcats stadium happened in 2021 so that they could provide a safe, outdoor, option for attendees and it ended up being a great location for the event.
“Everyone just loved being outside at the stadium last year. It’s a really unique venue for an event like this.” Patena said.
This year, the event will feature special keynote speaker Ron Kittle, former White Sox player and 1983 rookie of the year. Chamber members are invited to network with each other beginning at 11:15 a.m. and enjoy lunch with the keynote speaker at noon. Tickets to attend the lunch portion of the day are $30 for chamber members and weather permitting, the lunch will be held on the field of the U.S. Steel Yard. For this year’s event, members of any Northwest Indiana chamber are invited to purchase tickets at the same rate as Crossroads members.
The expo, which is open to the public and free to attend, will take place from 1-4 p.m. This portion of the day will offer community members a chance to network with more than 75 local businesses and learn more about what they are doing in the community. The day will conclude with a complimentary business after-hours sponsored by Indiana Beverage beginning at 4 p.m. Registration is required for the business after hours and anyone can attend.
“We want the public to come and talk to all of the businesses and see all of the booths at the expo.” Lisa Winstead, director of Community Relations for the Crossroads Chamber shared.
