Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks Ice Crew, Tommy Hawk to help Oilmen Fight Breast Cancer

Paint-The-Game-PinkA special celebration of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks will take place on Friday, June 26 at Oil City Stadium. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night as the Oilmen join the fight against breast cancer by painting the game pink again this season.

The popular Blackhawks Ice Crew and Tommy Hawk will make a guest appearance at the game to help raise funds for breast cancer research. All tickets are $10 and kids 12 and under receive free admission as part of BP Family Friday. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m. as the Oilmen host the Lexington Snipes. All fans will have the chance to meet the Ice Crew and Tommy Hawk to celebrate the 2015 Stanley Cup champions, all while supporting a great cause.

The cause is a very personal one for the Northwest Indiana Oilmen, as co-owner Kim Payne, wife of team president and owner Don Popravak, lost her mother and grandmother to breast cancer.

“This is an important cause for our organization and a personal one for my family,” Popravak said. “We are very proud to be a part of the ongoing fight against breast cancer.”
