St. Mary’s Environmental Club Learns about Protecting Nature in NWI

St. Mary Catholic Community School’s  Environmental Club was recently treated to a special guest presentation by environmentalist, Emily Stork. Mrs. Stork is an Ecologist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. She talked to the group about prescribed and controlled forest burns, how they are necessary to keep the forest under control, and how they are done safely. The students got to see pictures, watch videos, view equipment, and see how it all works. There were many questions and the experience was educational and enjoyable for the group.
