St. Mary’s Catholic Community School hosts grandparents

On Friday, October 18th, the students and staff at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point put on their annual Grandparents and Special Persons Day Program. Grandparents and special family members and friends were treated to coffee and donuts, a trip to the classrooms, and visit to the book fair with their students.  The day concluded with a music program in the school gym. The St. Mary students shined bright with their smiling faces and energetic songs. A highlight of the program was the essays and poems written 8th graders to share with the audience that put into words what their grandparents and special people mean to them. Examples of sleepovers, movies, food, shopping, and the fact that the grandparents and special guests are spiritual role models truly touched the hearts of the grandparents and special people who were in attendance.
