St. Mary’s Students Witness Historic Eclipse!

St-Marys-Students-Witness-Historic-Eclipse-2017Monday August 21st was an afternoon like no other at St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point IN. All students in grades 1-8 were invited to view the solar eclipse. The buzz around the building could be felt as classes counted down until the start of the eclipse. Second grade teacher Amanda Wysocki was very excited to teach the 2nd grade classes about the eclipse, how it occurs, and how to be safe while viewing. Wysocki mentioned “What an amazing experience to share with my students. I love all things space and getting to share the eclipse with my students will go down as one of my favorite moments in teaching.” August 21st will go down as quite the memorable day at SMS thanks to Becky Manis, director of the Challenger Learning Center in Hammond who provided the glasses.
