St. Mary’s Students Duck and Dodge for La Rabida Children’s Hospital

On Friday, April 26th, over 90 fifth-grade through eighth-grade students from St. Mary Catholic Community School in Crown Point gathered to play dodgeball and raise money for La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago. La Rabida specializes in treating children with chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities. The students raised over $1,000 for the hospital. The tournament was organized by junior high math teacher, Mrs. Theresa McLoughlin and she was helped by several Andrean High School students who are St. Mary’s alumni. Seventh grader Bella Gonzalez said that “the tournament was fun, and it was even better knowing that we were helping a good cause.”
