Mrs. Gina Thomas' first graders at St. Mary School in Crown Point are hoping for a little inspiration from the Cubs on their journey to their own Reading World Series. Soon the bases will be loaded and SMS “Cubbies” will be running into home.
So Far, the class has read 628 books since September. As the year continues the SMS “Cubbies” will earn more points by reading more books and moving around the field. At the end of the year when they reach their goal of home plate, they will earn a ballpark lunch with their teachers.
