St. Mary Medical Center Welcomes New Oncology Navigator

chs-stockSt. Mary Medical Center’s Cancer Care Center recently welcomed Patty Higgins, RN, OCN as its new Oncology Nurse Navigator. Higgins will assist oncology patients through treatment education and coordination of care, and will help patients develop a survivorship plan after treatment concludes.

“I am passionate about serving the needs of cancer patients in Northwest Indiana, providing support through all stages of a cancer diagnosis,” she said. “It is an honor to help patients navigate their journey through survivorship.”

Higgins most recently served as a nurse in the oncology unit at St. Mary Medical Center. During her time in the unit, she also worked in the infusion center. Higgins received her Associate of Science in Nursing from Ivy Tech Community College. She brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to her role.
