Spread goodwill with a donation to Together in Hope during the season of giving

The hustle and bustle of the holidays are here, from the sweet smell of hot cocoa to the brisk winter air. This season is a great time for celebration and festivities. It’s also a good time for reflection, to feel grateful for all that we have, and to give back.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, many community members shared their generosity with the Porter-Starke Services Foundation through the Together in Hope campaign. The campaign was created because the Valparaiso Turkey Trot, the Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser and a community tradition, was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. In lieu of participating in the event, the Foundation has invited past participants as well as the greater community to support essential healthcare and services with a donation to the campaign. As a “Thank You,” donors receive a Together in Hope face mask. If you see someone wearing a blue Together in Hope face mask as you’re out this holiday season, there’s a good chance they support the Porter-Starke Services Foundation and value the essential healthcare provided by Porter-Starke Services and Marram Health Center. Both organizations have continued to provide life-changing healthcare in our community throughout the pandemic.

This holiday season, consider giving an “alternative gift” by donating to the Together in Hope fundraising campaign. Give in honor of a friend, on behalf of someone you love, or simply to benefit people who will receive health services because of your giving. Your gift, in any amount, can support healthcare for children and adults, including mental health services, substance use treatment, primary care, dental services, and more. Give $30 and receive one face mask, $50 and receive two! Visit porterstarke.org/events to view all the giving levels and to donate today!
