The Art and Design Department at South Suburban College (SSC) invites students, who will enter their junior or senior year of high school in the fall of 2022, to learn about the Graphic Design Program this summer. This hands-on opportunity will run from June 6 - 16, 2022 between 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday on the South Holland campus in room 4431.
Participants will have the opportunity to work directly with Pamela Planera, who is not only the Graphic Design and Visual Communications Coordinator at SSC, but a professional graphic design artist and photographer as well. She will share details learned throughout her many years of experience in this exciting field while focusing on design elements incorporating professional Adobe software tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop. A variety of topics will be covered from print to animation.
Planera remarked, “If you are passionate about art and design, South Suburban College degree programs can teach you the skills to keep it at the center of your universe. In the graphic design summer session, students will be able to build a hands-on experience that combines traditional fine arts with today’s digital tools and techniques. The students will explore their creativity into a career path in graphic design.”
The enrollment fee for this non-credit session, called Graphic Design I, is $99. This opportunity is limited to 20 students. The deadline to apply for this summer session is June 2, 2022 or until full capacity is reached.
