South Shore Line service update

South Shore Line service update

South Shore Line passengers are advised that a nationwide spike in COVID-19 cases and the spread of the omicron variant continue to impact transit agencies across the country. SSL officials are actively monitoring the situation, and are prepared to temporarily adjust weekday train schedules if necessary.

At this time, the SSL will continue to operate its regularly scheduled train service unless operational constraints require the implementation of a modified train schedule. Any service modifications will be promptly posted to our homepage at www.mysouthshoreline.com, our South Shore Line Facebook and Twitter pages, the South Shore mobile app, and via email notifications.

We thank passengers for their patience and understanding as we all work together during this pandemic.

MASK REQUIREMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH 3/18/22: Per federal orders, the SSL continues to require masks in all SSL stations and onboard trains throughout Indiana and Illinois. This order is in effect regardless of vaccination status. Passengers who do not comply with the mask mandate will be subject to removal from trains. Certain passengers are exempt from the mask mandate, including passengers with medical/health issues and children under the age of 2.
