Future stops include Aquatic Play Center, Taltree Arboretum
The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority’s 30 Stops in 30 Days will be continuing with scheduled stops in Hammond, Hobart, Valparaiso, Portage and Chesterton. The 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign takes the South Shore Tour Mobile throughout the South Shore, promoting attractions, festivals, businesses and events during the South Shore CVA’s 30th anniversary celebration.
On Tuesday, July 23, the South Shore Tour Mobile will be at Marquette Park giving out passes to the Aquatic Play Center at Wolf Lake Memorial Park in Hammond from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors can explore the newly renovated park, see the historic pavilion and Gary Bathing Aquatorium and play at the beach.
Visit Wolf Lake Memorial Park’s Aquatic Play Center on Wednesday, July 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for an entry in the 30 Stops in 30 Days contest. Visitors will receive an entry for the $2,000 Family Express gift card grand prize and one lucky visitor will receive the daily $25 Family Express gift card.
The South Shore Tour Mobile will be at the Hobart Farmers’ Market on Thursday, July 25, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. passing out coupons to Taltree Arboretum. Visitors of the farmers’ market may also enjoy fresh produce, hand-crafted products and live entertainment.
On Friday, July 26, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the South Shore Tour Mobile will be making a pit stop at the Family Express in Valparaiso located at 3550 South State Road 2. Representatives from Family Express will join representatives from the South Shore CVA to explain the FE Perks program.
Following the pit stop, the Tour Mobile will be at Taltree Arboretum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Visitors may stop by the South Shore Tour Mobile for mini frisbees while enjoying The Neverly Brothers who will be performing favorite hits from 1950s American Rockabilly, Rock n’ Roll and Rhythm and Blues from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, July 27, the South Shore Tour Mobile will be at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. passing out coupons to Family Express. Visitors to the camp ground may enjoy food, trim a tree with Yogi Bear and Mrs. Claus and visit with Santa during their Christmas in July event.
The South Shore Tour Mobile will be at the Chesterton Family Express located at 1681 Pioneer Trail on Sunday, July 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors may learn about the Family Express FE Perks program as well as receive coupons to Fair Oaks Farms.
Heading into the final week of the 30 Stops in 30 Days campaign, the South Shore Tour Mobile will be at Fair Oaks Farms on Monday, July 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. While at Fair Oaks Farms, visitors can play on a massive jumping pillow, climb the 25-foot milk bottle-shaped climbing wall, visit the birthing barn for a chance to see a calf being born and try delicious, fresh cheeses, ice cream and Fair Oaks famous grilled cheese sandwiches.
