The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority (SSCVA) is gearing up to celebrate National Tourism Week which runs May 1, 2016 to May 7, 2016. Each year they have events during that week that are directed toward the improvement of tourism in the Region and the celebration of all things unique along the South Shore.
On May 4 the SSCVA will host their annual Tourism Luncheon at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond, IN. At the luncheon guest speaker Joe Veneto “The Opportunity Guy” will discuss high end strategies to produce the best products that businesses can offer their guests to provide the most memorable experience possible.
“We always bringing in world class speakers. It makes us different. We’ve had Roger Dowe, U.S. Travel Association President and CEO, come in. Rick Mazer, Regional President at Harrah’s Resort in Las Vegas, came one year,” Speros Batistatos, President and CEO of the SSCVA said. “Our tourism luncheon is a place where the hospitality community comes together to find out what’s going on. It’s one of those annual must attend events. It’s the brain storming, big thinking event that everyone will be at.”
Veneto is a multi-year veteran in the tourism industry. His company, Opportunities Unlimited, is fully dedicated to working with organizations within the industry to help them achieve optimal results by creating new business opportunities.
The morning following the luncheon, the SSCVA will be hosting a workshop where Veneto will get more in depth into the secrets of creating unforgettable experiences for guests in the tourism industry.
“The goal is to drive economic development. We want to engineer unforgettable customer experiences. Key trends in traveling that people want are experiences. It’s important to destinations and their partners to engineer what I call ‘unforgettable experiences’.” Veneto said. “I love to travel. I’ve been in the industry since college and I enjoy great experiences. I love working with organizations to help them create something new and the SSCVA is familiar with my work and I’m looking forward to coming to the South Shore.”
