Signs of summer in the Region: Wranglers full of adventurists on the road

One sure sign that the summer season has hit is the nearly constant parade of Jeep Wranglers on the road, -  tops off, 2020 grads blaring their tunes with their hair blowing in the breeze, losing a few ball caps to the roadways, no doubt.

Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM in Highland can attest that consumers are readying themselves for the summer adventure season that they hope will last long into the fall. As of a couple weeks ago, Jeep Wrangler sales were up 300 percent at the dealership, and Grand Cherokees were practically flying off the lot at their Highland store.

Sand, mud, rock, and eventually snow are friends to the Wrangler and Cherokee, but so is the easy roadway as well.

Daenan Badie, manager at Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM, said despite road construction or other temporary barriers, people have been finding their way to the dealership for their favorite purchases.

“Nothing keeps them away, it seems,” he said. “We have families coming from Illinois, braving the traffic and blocked streets. They know that we are friendly, clean, and going to make their experience pleasant,” he said.

In that instant, over the loudspeaker at the dealership, a staff member took over the mic to congratulate the Garza family from St. John, Indiana on their latest purchase. It was the eighth car the dealership sold that day.

“We make if fun,” Badie said. “We keep the attitude pumped up.”

A quick visit to their website at https://www.thomascdj.com/ reveals a simple inventory search tool where potential buyers can find the perfect new, used, or certified vehicle, Wrangler, Cherokee or otherwise.

Badie said popular offers, like a recent employee pricing offer for the general public on the Grand Cherokee, and 0 percent financing for 72 months with no payment for 90 days (on select models for qualified buyers), are keeping traffic steady.

“We’re also efficient here. We make the buyer experience easy and fast, and our inventory is changing constantly,” he said, particularly referencing the used car and certified inventory.

GreatNews.Life Executive Team Leader Jenny Craig-Brown and Executive Assistant Naphtalia Ruth took a 2020 Grand Cherokee for a test drive, and caught up with Joe Heisler, a product specialist at the dealership, for all the specs.
