The Seeds of Hope benefit was hosted by Friends of Hospice at the Avalon Manner in Hobart, IN.

Dr. Gustavo Galante was honored this evening for his true impact on the Hospice of Calumet, and the community as a whole.

“I once read a quote, it said, ‘Each individual in his homeland should do all he can to benefit mankind.’ Isn’t that why we’re all here tonight? All of you are here to support and benefit our homeland, our neighborhood, our community. We are very blessed to have the Hospice service in our community,” Dr. Galante said.

Becca Galante, wife of Dr. Gustavo Galante said, “I’m so proud of Gus, he’s been running the Hospice Hustle Bike Ride for the past 10 years. They’ve raised a lot of money for Hospice, I’m really proud of him.”

The benefit included dinner, dancing, music, and a live auction. Artisans of Friends of Hospice were selling their artwork, which all proceeds go to benefit Hospice of the Calumet Area.

Joann Markiewicz was eager to express her joy and commitment.

“I am part of the group of ladies and gentlemen that are part of the Friends of Hospice Artisans,” she said. “I am the creator of this jewelry and photography that you see here. We’re here for our organization to help Hospice of the Calumet Area. I’m part of a great group of people who help one another. It’s an amazing group to be part of.”

All in all, there was much excitement tonight to support such an important organization within our community.
