Members of the media are invited to cover the annual “Battle of the Medics,” where local first responders will compete in a five-station race against the clock, testing their skill and knowledge.
Celebrating Emergency Medical Services Week, the contest will be held from 10AM to 2PM at the following sites:
- Monday, May 20 at Franciscan Health Hammond on the 2nd floor of the hospital parking garage.
- Thursday, May 23 at Franciscan Health Dyer across the parking lot from the ER bay.
- Friday, May 24 at Franciscan Health Munster at the hospital helipad.
The agency with the best average time will receive the traveling trophy, currently held by 2018 winning Hammond Fire Department. The individual with the best overall time receives a medal. Scores from all three campuses will be combined to determine the winners.
