At Secure Dental, their philosophy is to create a warm, caring environment for patients. This mindset extends outside the dentistry’s doors and into its surrounding community.

“It's in our nature to improve the lives of the patients in our community, it's in our roots!  Secure Dental was born for just that reason—to provide our community with an affordable option in dentistry that allows a patient to achieve what they truly never thought would be possible. This happens inside and outside of the office,” said David Ortiz, Office Manager at Secure Dental.

Treating people with generosity and giving back are acts that Dr. Liu and Dr. Jafri hold at high importance and keep in mind when choosing new doctors to join the Secure Dental Family.

“I was so drawn to Secure Dental because of their values. They’re focused on bettering the community, growing their doctors, and becoming part of patients’ lives,” said Dr. Alex Shore, DDS. “Dr. Liu and Dr. Jafri are very charitable and honest people. They make a point to give a lot to the community, and they are very ethically-based.”

This year, Secure Dental recently made charitable contributions to the Portage Food Pantry and Housing Opportunities in Valparaiso for the holidays. Staff members spent the day dropping trunks full of canned goods to those in need.

“It’s very nice that Secure Dental thought of us during a time many are in need of food assistance,” said Joseph Kasper, President of the Portage Township Food Pantry. “It means a great deal that Secure Dental and its staff stepped up to help the community and our organization in this way.”

For all the staff at Secure Dental, giving back is an enjoyable part of the job.

“It feels great to be a part of an organization that believes in giving back to the community, it gives all of us a sense of purpose and responsibility to something meaningful and bigger than ourselves,” Ortiz said.

Lisa Franko, Director of Development at Housing Opportunities Inc., noted that many non-profit organizations in the area simply couldn’t fulfill their mission without the help of local businesses and community members.

“Secure Dental contacted us wishing to help support our mission and I was ecstatic,” Franko said. “We can’t do what we do alone, and we truly rely on community members and local businesses to help. We’re incredibly grateful for businesses like Secure Dental that help keep our shelves stocked.”

Secure Dental hopes to continue giving back and helping those in need after the holiday season comes and goes, not only in the realm of local non-profits but also for their patients.

“We believe Secure Dental has made a profound impact on the community by improving over 500 smiles. We take pride in the work we do, ensuring that each patient achieves what we call their ‘smile goal’,” Ortiz said.
