Score_points__not_durgs_with_Police_26amp-1Beginning April 7, 2015 the Duneland YMCA will open its doors to any kid age 8-14 for free (member or nonmember) who wants to hang out and play games with Chesterton Police and Firemen. This program will take place every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3-5pm for the months of April and May in the Duneland YMCA gym. Weather permitting, some activities will take place outside in the YMCA field. Activities include dodge ball, basketball, flag football, freeze tag, kickball and more!

"We know that when we work together, we can move people and communities forward. That's why we're committed to providing programs and opportunities for kids to learn, grown and form new friendships," said Emily Hoge, Membership Coordinator. "It's so awesome to watch the men and women who protect the Duneland area form relationships and challenge local kids to all sorts of games."

"Think of this program as the best possible way to challenge authority," said Chesterton Police Chief David Cinkoski. "We love having this kind of interaction with area youth. It's nice to get to know them."

The Duneland Family YMCA is a charitable nonprofit that focuses on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility and is a United Way of Porter County Partner Agency. For more information about this and other Y programs or membership, contact Emily Hoge at (219) 926 4204.
