Schererville to Honor Fallen Law Enforcement Officers

TownOfScherervilleColorLogoThe Schererville Police Department will hold a memorial service in front of the police station at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 16 to honor all the law enforcement officers who have laid down their lives to ensure our safety.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 each year as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week.

Today, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the country descend on Washington D.C. to participate in several planned events meant to honor those who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Come out and show your support for our local law enforcement as well as the tens of thousands nationwide.
