Schererville Parks and Recreation Department to Offer Large Assortment of Summer Programs in 2017

Schererville-Parks-and-Recreation-LogoThe Schererville Parks and Recreation Department will offer a large assortment of summer programs this summer. “Summer programs are a great way to get children outside and active,” Maddie Grimm, Recreation Coordinator, said. “We feel that our assortment of programs can appeal to various interests that children have.”

Some youth activities that the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department offer include “Fun-N-Sun,” “Tumblebear Cheerleading,” “Weird Science,” Theatre Camps, “Sugar Chefs! Baking Camp,” “Yoga for Kids,” “Creative Crafts,” “Recycled Nature Art,” “Kids Can Cook,” and “Tumblebear Gymnastics.”

There will also be some summer programs targeted for younger children in the community. These programs include “Romper Playtime” (ages 18 months to 3 years), “Kindermusik” (ages newborn to 3.5 years), and “Lots of Tots” (ages 3 to 5).

There will also be youth sports programs offered through the parks department. “SNAG Golf,” “Junior Group Golf,” “Youth Tennis,” “Gymnastics,” “Beginner Swim Lessons,” “Little Tykes Sporties,” “Verb for Tweens,” “Little Dragons,” and “Karate” are all among the programs that will be offered.

Registration for programs can be done in-person at the Clerk Treasurer’s Office located at Schererville Town Hall, 10 East Joliet Street, or online at www.activenwi.com.
