Savor the South Shore Restaurant Week combines favorite tastes around the Region with special deals

Whether you enjoy savory meals along the South Shore on a weekly basis or have yet to order from the menu of these restaurants, the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority is inviting you to take advantage of specially priced meals during this year’s Savor the South Shore Restaurant Week.

Happening from February 15 to 28, Savor the South Shore allows you to enjoy three-course meals from participating restaurants all week long. Here is a glimpse into what restaurants will include on their “Savor Menu” for an extra special price.

Aftermath Cidery & Winery

The locally owned cidery and winery located in downtown Valparaiso is offering a three-course meal for two people for just $40. The meal includes soft-baked pretzel bites served with cider infused fondue cheese as the appetizer. Aftermath’s entrée, The Briezy Turkey, is their signature olive oil-based wood-fired crust topped with turkey breast, fresh-cut apple, and slices of brie cheese. To finish it off, the restaurant is serving a chocolate hazelnut lava cake topped with whipped cream.

Asparagus Restaurant

Asparagus, a unique, Asian restaurant and lounge located in Merrillville, is offering two separate menu options: the All-Day Menu, available for both dine-in and carry-out, and the Carryout Family Dinner Menu.

The All-Day Menu is serving appetizers like asparagus or avocado crispy rolls, entrees like Thai pasta and Lard Na, and desserts like chocolate truffle egg rolls and bread pudding, all for a total of $35 per person.

The Carryout Family Dinner Menu provides enough food to feed four to six people for $65. The meal offers your choice of either Thai fried with chicken, pad Thai with chicken, or mixed greenery with chicken. All three of these half pan options will include four pieces of Thai chicken eggrolls, four pieces of peasant’s chicken satay, small cucumber salad, and both peanut sauce and sweet & sour sauce.

Brick House Bar and Grill

The atmosphere at Brick House Bar and Grill, a 21-and-over restaurant, is quaint and comfortable, and their menu features delicious options ranging from burgers to wraps to seafood to sandwiches. The restaurant’s Savor the South Shore special is 30% off any appetizer with the purchase of any seafood item. Be sure to check out their menu here to see their various seafood options.

Goblin & the Grocer

Located in Beverly Shores, this café, market, and pub has something on their menu for everyone. Their Savor the South Shore dinner menu is $33 per person offering your choice of salad, soup, entrée, and dessert. Salad choices include asiago romaine and warm spinach salad, which are both gluten-free, and soup choices include goblin clam chowder and creamy tomato, also both gluten-free. The restaurant is offering gluten-free goulash served on mashed potatoes, Tin Pie Bakery pot pie, chicken jager-schnitzel, gluten-free salmon risotto, and Calabrian mussel stew as entrée options.

Grindhouse Cafe

With inspired food, an in-house pastry chef, and well-crafted coffee and tea, Grindhouse Cafe in Griffith is offering an extra special deal for this year’s Savor the South Shore. Their carryout menu will be serving any sandwich, any pastry, and any drink for just $15! Features of their restaurant include masked faces, curbside service and online ordering, seasonal drink specials, and fresh-baked pastries.

Leeds Public House

In the heart of Michigan City, Leeds Public House features local ingredients weaved into classic, seasonal dishes. The restaurant will be offering an all-day and a carryout menu, both priced at $28 per person. The all-day menu allows you to select your choice of a starter salad or soup, an entrée, including braised short ribs, chicken carbonara or almond crusted barramundi, and crème brûlée for dessert. The carryout menu offers the same starter and entrée options as the all-day menu but includes chocolate cake with icing instead of a crème brûlée. Leeds Public House is family-friendly, offers curbside carryout or free local delivery, medical-grade air purifiers, and REME Halo LED Technology to ensure that staff and in-person customers are kept safe.

Lighthouse Restaurant

This welcoming restaurant on the water is offering an appetizer, entrée, and dessert from their regular menu for $40 per person. The appetizer choices being served include French onion soup with gruyere, provolone, and parmesan, or grilled carrots with tahini yogurt, spicy seeds, and house vinaigrette. Entrée choices include a belly-on pork chop or spicy shrimp spaghetti. To finish it off, they’re offering their vanilla bean panna cotta for dessert with pistachio brittle, blueberry compote, and mint.

Louie Wingz & Catfish

Louie Wingz & Catfish is inviting you to stop in and try their fried chicken or fried catfish paired with an epic mild sauce. For their Savor the South Shore specials, the restaurant is offering a lunch, dinner, and carry-out menu. The lunch menu will feature their chicken sandwich combo for $4.99, and the carryout menu features their small shrimp basket for $7.99. The dinner menu allows you to pick any two dinner combos for $21.99, and the options include combinations of their signature wingz, catfish, perch, and hushpuppies, among others!

The Mason Jar

Offering comfort food straight from Lowell, The Mason Jar is excited to offer an all-day menu for $22 per person. The starter they’re offering is BBQ Pork Totchos, the entrée options include beer-battered cod, classic southern-fried catfish, or a meatloaf dinner, and the dessert is a caramel apple bread pudding.

Running Vines Winery

Handcrafted in Chesterton, the flavors at Running Vines Winery are crafted and handled with care. For their Savor the South Shore special, you can enjoy their Caprese salad with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic vinegar glaze. For an entrée, the restaurant is serving their Fig the Pig, which includes an olive oil base from their wood-fired crust, fig jam, and thinly sliced prosciutto, goat cheese, and arugula. For dessert, a delicious brownie skillet will be included and topped with vanilla ice cream and house-made strawberry zinfandel reduction.

Sip Coffee Houses

This comfortable spot is an awesome meet-up place for great coffee and food, especially during the Savor the South Shore week. Their all-day menu is offering a special sandwich called the Triple Threat, which is a triple-decker chicken sandwich topped with veggies, Swiss cheese, and a house-made pesto sauce. To seal the deal on the $10 meal, Sip Coffee Houses is including a cookie and a 16oz blackberry iced tea. Hand sanitizer is available at the door at this family-friendly restaurant.

The Station at eMbers

Located in Rensselaer, The Station at eMbers is offering a lunch menu for $15 per person and a dinner menu for $48 for two people.

The lunch menu, which is available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offers starters including their soup of the day or their eMbers side salad. Their main course options include a spicy Italian beef, artichoke and pesto toastie, oink wood fired pizza, or spinach salad. The dessert for the lunch menu is either a s’mores casserole or a rotating cheesecake.

The dinner menu, which is available from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., includes either a winter baked brie or their U.S.S. eMbers pretzel boats for your starter. The main courses to choose from are a winter woodfired pork chop, station wings, or a jalapeno honey plant-based burger. Similar to the lunch menu, you can choose from either a s’mores casserole or a rotating cheesecake for dessert.

T-Bones Pier 11

Specializing in steaks and seafood, T-Bones Pier 11 is offering their delicious food starting at $11 per meal. The meal options include an 8-oz. New York Strip Steak, apple brined pork chop, beef stroganoff, mile-high meatloaf, chicken parmesan, or parmesan tilapia. Their in-house dining service has adequate table spacing, ozone air treatments, and extensive sanitation routines to keep staff and customers safe, all while maintaining an enjoyable experience.

Teibel’s Restaurant

At the corner of U.S. 41 and 30 in Schererville, Teibel’s Restaurant is offering discounts to their all-day menu for the Savor the South Shore week. The restaurant is closed on Monday but will offer lunch portions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner portions from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. the rest of the week. Their starter is Teibel’s signature stuffed mushroom caps for $7. You can order their lunch portion of Teibel’s famous lake perch for $13.95 or choose the dinner portion for $25.95. Sides, ranging from rice pilaf, French fries, or mashed potatoes, are included.

Timbrook Kitchens

Located in Munster, Timbrook Kitchens is a sandwich shop serving chef-crafted favorites. For $12 per person, you can call ahead and order your choice of a sandwich, side, dessert, and beverage and pick-up through their contactless, curbside delivery to your vehicle.
