‘Rolling for a Reason’ bowling fundraiser nets nearly $19,000

DYER - Bowlers packed Stardust Bowl III in Dyer on Feb. 8, raising a total of $18,912 for Catherine McAuley Clinic to help uninsured and underinsured patients receive healthcare.

The sixth annual Rolling for a Reason Catherine McAuley Bowling Fundraiser was sold out, with 234 bowlers taking part on all 48 lanes of the Dyer bowling alley.

“I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming support from our community sponsors and Franciscan Health physicians, nurses and employees,” said Rick Peltier, executive director of the Franciscan Health Foundation – Northern Indiana.

“A special ‘thank you’ to Dr. Art Branco and the Branco family for being champions of our success since the inaugural event six years ago. Dr. Branco is the heart and soul of our McAuley Clinic annual bowling fundraiser and the true driver of the event’s growth,” Peltier added.

Catherine McAuley Clinic, at 5530 Hohman Ave., in Hammond, is a volunteer-based medical clinic serving uninsured residents of northern Lake County.
