Rejuvenate Your Passion for Working with Children on June 25, 2014

indiana-youth-institute-logoThose who work with children often nurture young people yet struggle to find time to nourish their own spirits.

To help youth workers reconnect with their passion for children, the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is hosting a forum that will explore ways for youth workers to refresh their mind, body and spirit.

The forum will feature Brian Thompson, founder and president of B-Fit, B New, 4 Life, a mobile community stress reduction and wellness outreach program. Youth workers will recharge their batteries during this interactive seminar by learning Flowing Motion Tai-Chi, an innovative, time-conscious approach that uses calm, therapeutic-like energy movements. Flowing Motion Tai-Chi provides an enjoyable, energizing experience that can help reduce stress. This is not an aerobic or high-impact activity.

The forum will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CDT on June 25 at the United Way of Porter County in the conference room, 951 Eastport Centre Dr., Valparaiso, 46383.

As part of IYI’s Youth Worker Café program, the forum is free and lunch will be served, but reservations are required by noon on June 24. RSVP at www.iyi.org/YWC. Reservations may also be made by contacting IYI Statewide Outreach Manager Debbie Jones via phone at (317) 396-2723 or via email at djones@iyi.org.

Youth Worker Cafés are designed to bring together local youth workers to build relationships and inspire collaborations that will benefit children. This Youth Worker Café is made possible by IYI.
