Registration for 2015 Camp FUNset Begins February 28th

Camp-Funset-RegistrationPorter County Parks and Recreation will launch registration for the 2015 Camp FUNset season with their annual Registration Open House. The event will be held this Saturday, February 28th from 9am-12pm at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in the Maintenance Building. All those who attend and register for the variety of Camp FUNset sessions being offered this season, will receive $10 off each camp’s registration price.

Camp FUNset will run for eight weeks throughout the summer, with each week hosting a different theme. Campers are invited to sign up for as many weeks as they wish during the summer. This year’s sessions include some returning favorites from last year, along with new and exciting themes. Camps include Life is a Zoo, Camp Olympics, Backyard Bash, Discovering the Great Frontier, Artistic Adventures, Going Wild, Water, Water Everywhere and Out of this World.

This year’s camp will host a variety of camper favorite activities in addition to a wide array of new activities, guest speakers and adventures. Each camp will include activities such as archery, arts & crafts, team-building, games, and grand finale events. In addition, many exciting new features have been added to this year’s camp including extending the camp week to include Fridays, the addition of field trips to expand on each week’s theme, and the opportunity for overnights for campers in 3rd-5th grade during select weeks.

Camps are open to those entering 1st-8th grades and run Monday-Friday from 9-3. The cost varies by camp session-kids can register for as many weeks/camp sessions as they like. For more information please call 219-465-3586 or visit www.portercountyparks.org.
