Redwood Landscape, Lumin8 light up the holiday season

As fall begins to sneak its way into the Region with the occasional brisk day and the changing colors of leaves, it's a subtle reminder that the colder months are quickly approaching. With that can be a lot of stressful preparations for the holiday season - most often starting with the annual task of getting the decorations up on the house. Redwood Landscape is here to help alleviate some of that stress that comes with decorating, though, and offers quality holiday lighting installation and display options for both residential and commercial buildings.

This is made possible through the relationship Redwood has with Lumin8, its sister company that specializes in event lighting and decorations.

“Redwood is a landscape company that does lighting only for landscape, but then we have another company that's called Lumin8. Lumin8 does the holiday Christmas lighting and all sorts of event lighting that we put on the commercial and residential buildings,” said Redwood Sales Representative Nikola Bjelajac. “The Lumin8 lighting packages we have as of right now are mostly for big events, and obviously the Christmas lighting is a big deal, so we're preparing for the Christmas season.”

These lighting packages vary depending on what the customer has in mind for their holiday design. Whether it’s a simple layout of lining the house and bushes or an elaborate display with big signs and larger fixtures, Redwood has it covered and has the ability to bring almost any outdoor winter wonderland to life. Bjelajac noted one of his favorites included a golf course up in Wisconsin and is excited to see how the final project will soon turn out when the lights go up across the course this November.

After a consultation with the customer regarding their design, the price is then evaluated by the square foot, typically ranging anywhere from $3,500 to $5,000 depending on the display.

Redwood additionally offers an option for customers to purchase their own lights should they find a design they want to use each year.

“We have a package or option where you can buy your own lights, and we install them. The first year, you pay for the lights and installation fee, and the second year you pay for the storage fee and installation, which is significantly lower,” said Bjelajac.

A new solution being introduced to customers is inception Lighting, a permanent lighting solution that lasts more than 10 years with a 3-year warranty. It is a new technology and lighting solution that stays on the roof permanently with a one-time installation. This solution, which offers 16 million colors and an infinite number of patterns that can be animated, is mounted to the roofline and is invisible when the lights are off. There are a lot of variations on schedules, controls, and customization for personal needs and wishes. Inception lighting saves people a lot of money in the long term and is usable 365 days a year no matter the occasion or event.

"Our customers really like to use these lights for a cool effect during the Super Bowl games, Independence Day, other holidays, parties and family occasions such as weddings and graduation parties. Whatever is that you celebrate, lights are already be there and it will give a special, stunning and cool effect to the environment, party, or occasion, said Bjelajac.

No matter the kinds of lights someone chooses to illuminate their yard, Redwood’s displays will make it the talk of the town - the company has a large inventory of lights and displays that are unique to just them and cannot be found in stores.

“It's definitely unique because regular people usually can't go into facilities and just buy those lights since they’re only distributed to the companies,” Bjelajac said.

Turning the work over to Redwood also helps make the installation process a lot smoother. Gone are the days of trying to squeeze in time in an already busy schedule to decorate, or, in some cases, making risky decisions to get everything up and secure. Redwood’s team of professionals makes sure the job is done well, quickly, and most importantly, safely.

“Our guys are doing so many lights a year that they're already professionals; it only takes them a couple of hours to mount all that and then set it up. When I was younger, when we were putting lights up, it would take us at least a whole week to put them on and make them work, and then it was still never good enough,” Bjelajac said. “With us, you get the whole service – you can just tell us where you want the lights to be, and we get it done. You don't have to climb ladders; you don't have to re-secure anything. In the end, everything's going to be perfectly done.”

Lights also play a prominent role in the overall holiday experience. While adding a lighted display may seem like a minor touch, its impact goes long beyond the holiday season. Bjelajac hopes he can help others experience that holiday happiness for years to come through his and his team’s work at Redwood and is looking forward to what this season has in store.

“We help to bring joy, memories, and happiness to the people,” he said. “It's a small thing that creates long-lasting memories. Our perception or our vision is impacted by our environment, and when there are lights lit up all around, it really adds to that experience. We like to create this atmosphere because the feelings that come from it are directly connected to the brain where our memories are stored. We at Redwood hope our lighting work helps to create those memories during Christmas time that long-lasting memories of joy and excitement and fun.”
