Purdue Northwest Hosts Presentation About Workplace Expectations for Engineering Graduates

Purdue-Northwest-Hosts-Presentation-About-Workplace-Expectations-for-Engineering-Graduates-2018Alan W. “Bud” Wendorf, retired chairman, president and CEO of Sargent & Lundy, will offer advice geared for recent and upcoming engineering graduates when he comes to Purdue University Northwest (PNW) as the third speaker in the 2018-19 School of Engineering Distinguished Speaker Series.

Wendorf’s presentation, “What a young graduate engineer might expect in the workplace and what the workplace might expect from a recent graduate engineer” is at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation (CIVS) on the Purdue Northwest Hammond Campus, Room 115 in the Powers Building, 6937 Woodmar Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

After joining Sargent & Lundy in 1972, Wendorf oversaw engineering consulting projects at power plants all over the globe. He ultimately rose to chairman, president, and CEO, building Sargent & Lundy into a world leader in professional services for the electric power industry. He served as a director of the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Construction Industry Round Table, and was made a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, one of the highest honors in his discipline. Wendorf retired in 2013 after a 41-year career with Sargent & Lundy.
