Purdue Calumet Men Stand Fourth at Olivet Fall Invite

PUC-Men-Stand-Fourth-at-Olivet-Fall-InviteLed by Patrick Mudd’s first-round 76, the Purdue University Calumet men’s golf team stood in fourth place after Day 1 of the Olivet Nazarene Fall Invite Thursday at Balmoral Woods Country Club.

Mudd (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point), who stood tied for third overall, led the Peregrines as the lone member to break 80, as Purdue Calumet shot a 322 as a team after 18 holes.

Host and leader Olivet Nazarene (305) stood first — led by overall individual leaders Matt Winklemann (73) and Ryan Muzjlakovich (73) — and St. Francis (Ill.) was second with a 314. Trinity Christian stood just ahead of the Peregrines in third with a team score of 319.

Peregrines' freshman Ryan Wells (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) scored an 80 in his first round of collegiate play and senior Tim Talley (Portage, Ind./Portage) shot an 82 to round out Purdue Calumet’s Top 3.

Adding to the effort were freshman Leo Govert (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) with an 84 and sophomore Brad Bobrowski (Valparaiso, Ind./Boone Grove) with an 89.

Purdue Calumet will complete play at the two-day event Friday at 9 a.m. CT in Crete, Ill.
