Purdue Calumet Finishes Ninth at MSOE Invitational

PUC-PeregrinsPatrick Mudd shot a two-day total of 154 to lead the Purdue University Calumet men's golf team to a ninth-place finish in the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational Sunday and Monday.

Mudd (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) shot a 76 Sunday and then a 78 during Monday's final round to finish tied for 18th overall in the 74-player field to lead the Peregrines, who finished with a two-day team total of 649.

Senior Mat Bowen (Catlin, Ill./Catlin) carded a 77 Sunday before Monday's round of 84 to finish with a total of 161, good for a tie for 37th place.

Brad Bobrowski (Valparaiso, Ind./Boone Grove) and Tim Talley (Portage, Ind./Portage) shot totals of 168 and 169, respectively, and Jeremy Shaffer (Crown Point, Ind./Boone Grove) rounded out the Peregrines with a two-day score of 174.

Central College (Iowa) won the tournament with a two-day total of 590, breaking 300 both days, while Carthage College (607) and Edgewood College (611) placed second and third.

Central College's Desmond Stoll moved up two places Monday to capture medalist honors with A pair of 72s to finish with a total of 144.

Monday's competition wrapped up the Purdue Calumet golf fall season, with the sports championship season set to start this spring.
