Win a 105-piece tool set, an Edwardo’s pizza or a Vera Bradley purse for as little as a few quarters at the Quarter Auction on Oct. 14 at Andorra Banquets, 1112 U.S. 41.
The Munster Junior Woman’s Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, hosts the event to raise money for local charities and organizations.
A $25 ticket includes a buffet dinner, dessert and one numbered bidding paddle. An extra paddle costs $5. Be sure to bring a few rolls of quarters with you to bid on the prizes you want.
At the auction, the emcee will present and describe each item. If you bid on the item, it will cost one to four quarters, based on its value. Each quarter represents $25 in value. You will put your quarter(s) in the middle of the table and raise your paddle until the auctioneer calls a number from a basket. If it matches your paddle, you win. If the winning number was not raised, then another will be pulled.
Among the prizes are a Vera Bradley purse, tool sets and gift certificates to restaurants such as Edwardo’s, R Bar, Schoop’s and Subway. Tupperware, Dark Lord beer, a Keurig coffeemaker, Pampered Chef and Lover’s Lane items are also among the 60 items up for auction.
Registration begins at 5:45 p.m., dinner is served from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and the auction starts at 6:45 p.m.
Buffet dinner includes Greek chicken, sausage pasta, roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad, rolls and butter. Cash bar will be available. A 50/50 raffle benefitting SAWS, Servants at Work, Inc., an organization that builds ramps for wheelchair-users, will also take place.
