Porter Health Care System has announced the addition of Neurologist and Valparaiso native, Ryan Pappas, D.O. to Porter Physician Group. Sean Dardeau, Porter Health Care System and Northwest Indiana Market Chief Executive Officer announced that Dr. Pappas has also joined the Porter Regional Hospital Medical Staff. Dr. Pappas’ office is located at the hospital’s Valparaiso Medical Center at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Glendale in Valparaiso. His areas of interest include dementia, movement disorders, stroke prevention, neuropathy, and epilepsy.
“Dr. Pappas comes to us from the Barnes Jewish Christian Medical Group in the St. Louis area. His experience and training complement our growing Neurosciences team and will help us better meet the region’s need for quality care close to home,” said Dardeau.
After receiving his medical degree from Kirksville College of Medicine Dr. Pappas completed neurology residency at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. He then completed a fellowship in neurophysiology at the Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Pappas is board certified in Neurology by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry and he is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
