PNC Offers Non-Credit Healthy Eating Seminar

PNCThe Purdue University North Central Office of Graduate and Extended Learning and Department of Nursing and Health Studies will offer the “Living Longer and Eating Less” non-credit healthy eating seminar on Oct. 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Library-Student-Faculty Building, Room 144. Seminar tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased online at www.pnc.edu/gel or at the door.

Amelia Wilson, PNC visiting assistant professor of Health Studies, will explain the health benefits of “eating less,” meaning consuming fewer calories but not necessarily smaller quantities of food. Participants will learn how “eating less” can result in less heart disease and cancer and help control diabetes and live a longer life. Participants will also have a demonstration on how to make a salad that supplies all of the nutrients they need with only 500 calories per serving.
