Pierce 8th grade students had a little taste of “real life” while they participated in the Reality Store. 74 volunteers from the community came together at Pierce Middle School sponsored by the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce. Each 8th grade student was given a paycheck for their job, along with a family, and a check book. All students were dressed for success.
Each student started at table one/housing, and traveled thru life buying a house, vehicle, insurance, paying utility bills, and extras. Some ended up at the Life Coach table. Some made it out with money in savings! Each student took away an important lesson on life. You have to live within your means and each decision you make has a consequence.
