Dyer Parks & Recreation is having a Little Dragons Karate Class for ages 4-6 years on Tuesdays from 5:15-6pm at the Schererville Community Center, beginning Jan. 28 and running through March 18. Little Dragons is a karate program that will provide your child with basic techniques and escapes while developing self-confidence, focus, attention span, discipline, coordination and flexibility. Students are separated after stretching according to their rank. This is a year-round program but you can start at any session. Dyer Parks & Recreation is having a Bowling Fundamentals Class for ages 5-14 years old on Sunday, February 16 from 1-2pm at the Plum Creek Center in Dyer. It will be an introduction to the wonderful sport of bowling and is perfect for children in grades K-8. During this class, children will learn about sportsmanship and will gain confidence and positive self-esteem. Bowling can be enjoyed as a family or an individual and will reinforce math concepts when keeping score. This program will also help with motor skills, movement concepts, social behavior, responsibility, physical fitness as well as hand-eye coordination. You'll be given a long list of items to find and places to visit during our allotted time which will translate into points.
