Open Enrollment Continues at New Vistas High School

NEONew Vistas High School, a tuition‐free public high school serving students of all ages from across Northwest Indiana, is currently holding open enrollment for the current school year. New Vistas High School is designed to serve students, including adults, who seek a supportive and personalized option for earning their Indiana high school diploma. The school offers flexible day or evening and full or part-time scheduling and offers an open door for those students who wish to re-engage in school, no matter their age.

“There is still time to enroll in New Vistas and earn a high school diploma this school year,” said New Vistas Executive Director, Rebecca Reiner. “The community here at New Vistas is diverse, welcoming and perfect for students looking for something a ‘little different’ than the traditional high school experience.”

Neighbors’ New Vistas High School is a free public high school established in 2012 to continue the high school services that had previously been offered by Portage Adult High School for over 45 years. In 2017, 266 students from 31 different NWI communities were enrolled, 76% of whom were 18 years of age or older. New Vistas serves those students who are trying to re-engage in high school to finish their credits they need for an Indiana High School diploma or for the student who seeks a smaller, more personalized school experience.

Students or parents interested in enrolling at New Vistas should call (219) 850-4448 or visit the school at 5201 U.S. Highway 6 in Portage or go to www.enroll-neo.org to get more information and to sign up for the fall semester.
