Olivet Nazarene Tops Purdue Calumet, 2-0

PUC-PeregrinsTwo corner kick goals in the first half was all visiting Olivet Nazarene University needed in handing the Purdue University Calumet men's soccer team a 2-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss Tuesday at the Crown Point Sports Complex.

Tyler Gill scored both goals -- one in the 29th minute and another in the 41st -- via corner-kick assists from teammate Paddy Hoepp to give the Tigers (6-4, 2-1 CCAC) a halftime advantage the Peregrines couldn't erase.

Purdue Calumet (4-4-1, 2-1-1) sustained its first conference loss in the setback, as the Peregrines were outshot 17-5, including a 11-0 margin on goal.

Freshman keeper Miguel David (Spring Valley, Calif./Bonita Vista) recorded nine saves in all 90 minutes, a season-high for the Peregrines.

Purdue Calumet returns to play Saturday, Oct. 4, with a league matchup at St. Xavier in Chicago, Ill.
