NWI Veterans Action Council offers list of employment and job opportunities for veterans

2019VETERANSCOUNCIL (1)It takes great courage, bravery, and strength to join the armed forces. Willing to put their lives on the line to defend the United States of America, the men and women who have enlisted for service are among the most admirable people. Sadly, many active members of service and veterans struggle to find civilian jobs. NWI Veterans Action Council is working to make sure that active National Guard members, Army Reserve members, and veterans are matched with appropriate careers and jobs.

The NWI Veterans Action Council is inviting local employers to take an active role in committing to hire veterans. The council created and continually updates a list of employment resources and job openings for those who have served. Employers are also invited to consider offering veterans a discount or promotion on their products or services. Discounts and promotions provided would also be added to their online list of resources for veterans.

Currently, the list contains dozens of employment resources and job openings. Each listing contains links to find our more information about the available opportunities.

Among the list of opportunities is the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) which offers a variety of resources to help veterans start and grow a small business. Through the link on the NWI Veterans Action Council website, veterans can seek information on funding a veteran-owned small business, veteran entrepreneurial training services, and veteran contracting.
