Kevin Frazier

Kevin Frazier leads marketing programs, brand management, and corporate partnerships as the Director of Marketing for NW Indiana ER & Hospital. Frazier received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and held a role as staff writer for the Purdue Chronicle newspaper. He comes with experience from serval local companies in Northwest Indiana and Chicago. His role as director of marketing played a big factor in the launch of NW Indiana ER & Hospital. When he is not working, Frazier can be found spending time with his wife and four children or playing baseball on a local team.

“What we have already been able to offer to Northwest Indiana is incredible,” Frazier said. “All of our staff members are highly committed to each patient who comes to us for help. We work efficiently and effectively together to make sure they receive the proper care and see that we care about them. I’m proud to be part of this organization and look forward to expanding our reach.”

Dr. Scott Samlan

Dr. Scott Samlan serves as the chief executive officer and a physician partner of NW Indiana ER & Hospital. Samlan has earned an outstanding reputation for improving client and patient satisfaction, problem solving, and driving operational improvements. Samlan has more than 15 years of experience practicing emergency medicine as a board-certified physician and has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, over the course of his career he has received numerous honors, including being awarded “Top Physician in Patient Satisfaction” by Advocate Sherman Hospital for three consecutive years. Notably, he has also been featured on CNN, Fox News, ABC, and CBS This Morning. Outside of the office, Samlan enjoys spending time with his family, boxing, and cheering on the Chicago Bears.

“I chose the field of emergency medicine to help as many people as I could,” Samlan said. “I wanted to get to know them and help them with whatever they came in to get help with. It’s a passion of mine to get to know my patients and provide them with wonderful bedside manner. I want to make sure that anyone who walks in our doors leaves with a sense of relief and a good experience.”

Dr. Daniel Irving

Daniel Irving, M.D., MBA is the physician owner and chief operating officer at NW Indiana ER & Hospital. Irving earned his medical degree at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and his MBA at Auburn University. With a strong background in financial management and process improvement, Irving brings a wealth of operational and financial experience to his role. In addition to being board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he is also a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and the Surfer’s Medical Association. When he is not working, Irving greatly enjoys spending time outdoors surfing, mountain biking, and being with his family.

“I didn’t intend to go into medicine from a younger age, it’s something I decided after college. Being out in the working world, I wanted to do something that I felt mattered and helped people,” Irving said. “Reactions of the patients have been priceless and really have made it all worth it. We’ve been able to sit down and give our patients the time that they deserve and educate them on their disease process, labs, and X-rays. I think we’re offering something that isn’t found in the traditional hospital ER environment.”

Amanda Jensen

Amanda Jensen, MSN, RN is NW Indiana ER & Hospital’s chief nursing officer. Jensen brings over a decade of local nursing experience to NW Indiana ER & Hospital as she previously served as an emergency department registered nurse at Community Hospital in Munster. In her role, Jensen ensures the delivery of quality nursing practice throughout the organization. Jensen is originally from Lansing, Illinois and likes to cook and spend time with her family when she is not at work. Additionally, she is currently completing her master’s degree from Chamberlain University to become a family nurse practitioner.

“I personally would love to be treated at a micro-hospital like this,” Jensen said. “The staff is friendly, inviting, and treats you like family. The experience is very individualized. When people come here with shortness of breath, for example, we want to know the patient’s background. We ask questions like, ‘how long has this been going on? Is it worse when walking? Does this medication trigger something?’ We take a very personal approach to medicine, and that’s something to be proud of.”

The staff of doctors, nurses, and everyone else at Northwest Indiana ER & Hospital are committed to providing individualized, friendlier approaches to medical care.
