Northwest Medical Group recently welcomed nurse practitioner Jennifer DeFauw, FNP-C. DeFauw joined the family medicine practice of Derek Gasper, D.O., and Vijaya Chapala, M.D., at the Northwest Medical Group – Primary Care office located at 1100 McDonald Drive in Valparaiso.
Ashley Dickinson, Chief Executive Officer for Northwest Health, shared that adding new practitioners is part of a continued effort by Northwest Medical Group to meet the growing demand for primary care throughout Porter, La Porte and Starke counties. Last year, Northwest Medical Group added more than 15 new providers to the area.
“We’ve seen the need for more primary care providers throughout Northwest Indiana in recent years and are pleased to add new practitioners and services here for the patients in the area,” said Dickinson.
DeFauw received both her master of science in nursing and her bachelor of science in nursing from Purdue Northwest in Hammond, Indiana. She specializes in general and preventive medicine for patients and provides treatment for acute illness and chronic conditions such as arthritis and high blood pressure.
