Northwest Medical Group Opens New Office in Valparaiso

On Thursday, August 10, Northwest Medical Group celebrated the opening of its newest location in Valparaiso with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce. The new $8.3 million medical office building is 20,187 square feet and located at 2505 Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso, near the intersection of Calumet Avenue and Vale Park Road. Patients will begin visiting the new location on Monday, August 14, 2023.

The new building houses the following physicians with Northwest Medical Group - Primary Care:

  • Vijaya Chapala, MD
  • Ather Malik, DO
  • Hector Marchand, Jr. , MD
  • Michael Mirochna, MD
  • Kimberly Perry, MD
  • Sangeeta Sehgal, MD
  • Daniela Sikoski, MD
  • Crystal Tuncay, DO

Additional physicians who are new to the community will serve at this location by yearend.

According to Northwest Health – Porter Interim CEO Dr. James Leonard, this new location in Valparaiso is part of an ongoing strategic investment to enhance patient care and increase access to health services throughout the region. The strategy includes integrated electronic medical records, convenient locations, the addition of more physicians and easier access to providers.

“Most of the primary care physicians transitioning to this new location have served patients from throughout the area for many years,” said Dr. Leonard. “Over that time, their practices have grown so much that we needed to create additional space to allow them to accommodate more patients while continuing to provide quality care to the community.”
