Join board-certified colorectal surgeon D. Owen Young, MD, to learn what colon cancer is, why it’s on the rise in younger adults, the importance of early detection and the most effective treatment options at Northwest Health’s next HealthyU wellness seminar. The free event entitled Screen for Life: Colon Cancer Awareness will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in the Community Room at Northwest Health – Porter located 85 E. U.S. Hwy. 6 in Valparaiso.
During his presentation, Dr. Young will share how regular colorectal cancer screenings beginning at age 45 – or younger if you have a family history – are the key to preventing colon cancer. There will a question and answer session at the end of the talk.
