On February 18, Northwest Health – Porter named the most recent recipient of the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nursing, Belinda (Belle) Wirick, RN.
Wirick, an intensive care nurse, was nominated by a patient who said Wirick went out of her way to calm her anxiety. This, along with the way Wirick consistently anticipates patients’ needs, shows compassion and understanding are just a few common praises she receives from patients. Wirick cares for patients as if they her own family members.
The DAISY Award was established to celebrate the extraordinary compassion that nurses like Wirick provide their patients and families every day. Nurses may be nominated by employees, patients and hospital visitors.
