Officials from NorthwestHealth invited local community leaders to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their newest location, Northwest Medical Group - Primary Care, in Michigan City, Ind.
Located conveniently at the corner of Franklin and Coolspring – right in the heart of Michigan City – the new medical office offers first-class medical care to area residents. Staffed by resident primary care physicians Anne Hollingsworth, D.O. and Maribonn Tiangson, M.D., the new location allows for quick and convenient medical care.
Kelly Credit, Market director of marketing & community relations at Northwest Health, said that the new office is a relocation from its previous location at Northwest Health – Michigan City.
“Our other location was becoming very busy with specialty practices and departments like radiology, lab, specialist physician offices like cardiology and OB-GYN, and other outpatient services, so we decided to move our primary care to this location to better serve our patients,” said Credit. “This location allows us to be closer to residential areas of town and makes us more convenient for the community.”
The new medical office has been open and welcoming patients since spring of 2021, with two primary care physicians practicing internal medicine to treat adult patients.
“We can treat most medical conditions that our patients might need treatment for, both chronic and acute conditions, in addition to offering wellness clinics, exams, and access to specialists,” said Credit. “We are seeing an increase in demand for our services here in Michigan City, so this location allows us to better offer those services.”
Dr. Tiangson has been with Northwest Health for two years.
“I love it here!” said Dr. Tiangson. “This new clinic is much more accessible, especially for patients who maybe don’t have their own transportation. We have a bus stop right nearby and many of our patients can even walk here because now we are so close. They love it!”
In addition to the office’s prime location, Dr. Tiangson said she especially appreciates the layout of the office space.
“It has a very good flow. It’s easy to get here and easier for patients to connect with us,” said Dr. Tiangson. “We really look forward to seeing them and providing the best care possible.”
CEO of Northwest Health Ashley Dickinson reiterated the sentiments, mentioning how important this relocation is to properly serve the patients in this area.
“This has been a project we’ve been planning for quite some time,” said Dickinson. “It’s very important for us to be here, right in the heart of Michigan City.”
