Thursday, Nov. 21 UNCF Party with a Purpose 6:00p.m. The UNCF will host an HBCU Homecoming Party with a Purpose Thursday, Nov. 21 at Marquette Park Pavilion, 1 N. Grand Blvd at 6:00p.m. Tickets are $25. Call 881-1300 for tickets and more information.

Nov. 21-22 Vacant Land Repurposing Workshop 6:00p.m. This workshop will explore opportunities for applying SENCER principles to repurposing vacant land in the urban centers of the Great Lakes region. The conference will run from 1 PM on November 21 to noon on November 22. The program will feature panels of educators and community partners who are engaged in repurposing of vacant land and will provide opportunities to explore future collaborations. The workshop is sponsored by the SENCER Center for Innovation-Great Lakes and the Vacant to Vibrant Project of the Cleveland Botanical Garden.

Friday, Nov. 22 Obamacare Enrollment 10:00a.m. Representatives from Community HealthNet will be enrolling residents in Obamacare on Friday, Nov. 15 from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. at Gary City Hall, 401 Broadway in the Office of the Mayor, 2nd Floor. Friday, Nov. 22 West Side Alumni Card Party & Social 6:00p.m. The West Side H.S. Class of 1990 will present a Card Party & Social Friday, Nov. 22 at Gleason Clubhouse, 3400 Jefferson St. from 6:00p.m. – 12a.m. Entrance is $5 before 8pm and $10 afterwards.

Saturday, Nov. 23 Gary Police Dept. Gun Buyback 8:00a.m. The Gary Police Department will host another Gun Buy Back on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6 local churches from 8:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. In addition to receiving a Wal-Mart gift card for turning in weapons, the first 50 people will receive a GED testing voucher.
